Stryker UK head offices, Newbury (spec: Mastic Asphalt)
The famous Newbury Racecourse in Berkshire has been hosting race meetings now for over 100 years. Although some of us at Rock may be quite partial to a flutter on the Lockinge Stakes each May, that isn't the reason we have found ourselves lately in the vicinity of Newbury. Overlooking the racecourse are the offices of Stryker, the UK division of the Stryker Corporation, a leading global firm which develops and produces medical implants and surgical and imaging technologies, as well as patient handling and emergency medical equipment.
ESA Architects recently gained planning consent to develop new headquarters for Stryker UK on a site adjacent to their existing facility. As befits one of the world's largest medical device companies, the £15m project is very high specification. Rock have been brought on board by main contractor VolkerFitzpatrick to supply our Flexiphalte Triple Protection - the ultimate in fully bonded high performance waterproofing systems. This will only add to the quality of Stryker's new 10,000 sq m hi-tech equipment centre and offices, which are scheduled for completion this summer.
