49 Park Lane, Mayfair (spec: Lead / Slate / Tiling)

49 Park Lane is a part new build, part refurbishment scheme located on one of London's most famous streets. Developed by Pembroke Real Estate and designed by RHWL Architects, it has been built with the most discerning of occupiers in mind. There are nine levels of column-free, flexible and efficient office space, with floor-to-ceiling windows and upper-level terraces providing abundant natural light and stunning views across Hyde Park and beyond.

The principal contractor was Mace who, having worked with Rock in the past, were aware that we could fulfil not only the building's waterproofing requirements, but much more besides. Mace asked Rock to take responsibility for the mansard and all the tiling and lead work for the roof and balconies, confident that we would complete it to the most exacting standards of craftsmanship.

We welcomed the opportunity to demonstrate our proficiency in more traditional roofing skills and the client was delighted with the finished result. It was, after all, crucial that every element of 49 Park Lane was sympathetic to the quality and heritage of its neighbouring buildings, which include the Dorchester Hotel.
