As the market leader in waterproofing and renewable technology, Rock has been the partner of choice for many of the UK's biggest contractors, including Costain.
Costain and VT Group, a major company in the support services sector, have formed a consortium known as Learning21. This joint venture has been developed in response to the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme, which aims to enhance education standards and the role of schools in local communities. Rock is working with Learning21 to help deliver the London Borough of Lewisham's BSF programme, which includes Northbrook Secondary School.
Rock's strengths and areas of expertise perfectly complement those of Learning21, which cover construction, ICT, facilities management and school support partnerships. Northbrook has 600 pupils and is a voluntary-aided Church of England co-educational school for 11-16 year olds.
To complete our work, Rock has had to liaise effectively with all stakeholders, as the building lies within a built up conservation area with limited access routes. Progress has been excellent, and the new school is set to be fully operational in January 2011.
