Marcol House (spec: Hot Melt)
Marcol House marks the first time that Rock have partnered Wates, one of the UK’s largest family-owned construction services company. The new Great Portland Estates development will provide seven floors of commercial office space and retains a listed façade on Regent Street adjacent to a new building element designed by architectural practice BFLS. The finished whole actually amalgamates three prominent sites where Regent Street meets Margaret Street, just south of Langham Place.
Although there is a clear distinction between the historic and the contemporary frontages, the sophisticated design and choice of materials have created a homogeneity within the existing context of one of London’s most famous streets. Wates have contracted Rock to deliver our hot melt roofing and structural waterproofing system – a high quality, fully bonded application which will protect the inverted roof that is a feature of the new development. With the successful completion of Marcol House, we hope that further opportunities to work in partnership with Wates will arise in the near future.
