123 Victoria Street, London (spec: Hot Melt, Green Roof)
When Land Securities announced the redevelopment of 123 Victoria Street, it was clear this was to be a major project. The 1970s building spans 20,700 sq m of office and retail space, with attractive new office space planned for the upper floors and a mix of high-quality retail at street level.
Internally, 123 Victoria Street was to be completely stripped out, while at roof level the canopy would be removed so that the exterior might become more faithful to the original award-winning architectural design. The roof itself would be replaced by a multitude of small roofs with different finishes, a task made more complex by the extreme difficulty of access to the site. Main contractor Mace awarded the contract to Rock because they knew, from previous partnerships, that it would require our level of dedication and expertise if the challenges which lay ahead were to be successfully overcome.
A Bauder hot melt system and green roof had been specified, which Rock,s team installed with our customary professionalism and attention to detail. Rock is qualified to install Bauder products where required, and the result is a robust waterproofing solution combined with a simple, low-maintenance green space for the rooftop environment.
